Your Healing Session: The Ultimate Stress Reduction

Healing is defined in the dictionary as “the act or process of regaining health.” I define the healing I do in my practice as “to make better.”  Almost all of my clients get to a very relaxed and meditative state during our sessions.  I believe that a relaxed body and calm mind facilitate the body's healing processes.

The first time you come to my Healing Space, I will take a short medical history. Then we will discuss your purpose for a healing and you will lie down on the treatment table, or sit in a chair if that is more comfortable.  I will teach you to breathe deeply if you do not already know how. With words I will guide you to a very relaxed state of mind and help you be aware of your body's ability to heal. I will bless the Space in the name of God and state our intention for the healing session. I will assess your energy field by moving my hands around you. I will lightly touch your head, hands, feet and body in various soothing ways while praying silently or quietly, and move my hands about 5 inches above and around your body, many times in some cases.

Sometimes fragrant essential oils are diffused in the room or used to bless your senses.

If you wish I can use vocalized prayer along with you to address any issues you choose.

A healing session usually takes 30-90 minutes and can be a deeply spiritual experience.

Most people feel very peaceful and relaxed afterward and this can continue for a long time.

If finances are an issue we can make other arrangements. I trade services.

As far as I know there are no CPT codes for Healing Touch and it is not covered on insurance or FSA accounts, but I will give you a receipt if you choose.

I keep written records of our sessions and have taken a vow of confidentiality. Your information is not shared without your written permission.

One does not have to do anything to prepare for a Healing session. No clothes are removed except shoes and socks, unless massage therapy is combined with the Healing Touch, and nothing is required of you during the session. All you have to do is recline on a comfortable treatment table and listen to beautiful music or the sounds of nature and my soft speaking voice guiding you into relaxation. You do not have to talk. Often my clients go to sleep or just relax deeply.

During a Healing session I pray for and trust in the highest good for that person. Whatever that IS, is completely up to God, not me. What I do is center and ground myself and totally clear my mind into a state of meditation, then listen and sense what that person's Spirit communicates to me as far as which techniques to use. Then God’s Healing Light flows through my hands to where it needs to go.

My intent is that the healing session will help the person’s body to come to a place where it is pain free, but how or when that happens is not up to me. I know that the body sends us symptoms as messages to warn us that something is out of balance, and often those symptoms are the way the body eliminates toxins so that we can really heal. I suggest eating pure food and drinking a LOT of water after a healing session.

“Does a person have to have FAITH to be healed?

The answer to this question is of course NO. There are many examples in the Gospel where faith was not part of the equation and yet God healed through Jesus. Often, individuals healed in the Gospel happened to be in the right place at the right time and faith was not even an issue.

In ‘Faith Healing’ there is a false reasoning used which is harmful:

"If you have enough faith you will be healed. If you are not healed it is because you do not have enough faith."

This rationale actually blames the victim for not being healed, adding guilt to their burdens. This is unethical. It also is saying that ‘if I have enough faith, God must do what I want!’ In contrast, Biblical faith is more a matter of trusting in God’s love and power than believing that a certain result will be achieved.”
