Tony's place is across the street from Parish Bank on Gause Blvd. in Slidell. He has the best Satsumas and Creole tomatoes.

Slidell Library 12"x18" pastel

Outside of the Slidell Library on Robert Blvd is a sculpture by Skip van Houten of USM. Made of steel and chunks of marble, it was donated by the Regional Arts Council. This is a view toward the side door.

Dock on the West Pearl 24"x18" pastel

This little dock is in a back yard on the river by the utility easement in Quail Ridge, about a mile from my house on Palm Swift Drive in Slidell. I would stop and watch the river on my morning walk. The cypress trees are like flames in January.

I-10 at Gause 13"x13" pastel

Many of the Slidell residents were concerned about the well being of this woman we called "Hattie." Hattie would often hitchhike from this Interstate 10 on-ramp by Wal-Mart, sitting for hours in her huge flowered sunhat, dozing in her folding chair out in the sun, cooler at hand. Stories abound regarding her destination and reasons for going there. I met her at the store one day and was intrigued by her face, so asked her if she would model for me for a portrait, but she refused. So I had to satisfy myself with this telephoto shot of a local icon.

"Shadowlawn" - graphite - 9x6

Before Hurricane Katrina, Shadowlawn was an awesome B&B in Ocean Springs Mississippi, run by the Wilsons. This is a view of the back porch from the lawn on the beach.
